NC Pipe
Freeze recently received a call from an
area hospital for an immediate freeze plug application.
The project initially called for a single
½" pipe isolation to change out a rotten
½" pipe. Upon arrival the NC
Freeze techs discovered instead the necessary repair would
require a double simultaneous freeze plug
on a 2 ½" chill water pipe. With our large
inventory of CRYO-LATOR®
Chambers and equipment this on-site project scope change
was no problem. Please take a moment to review the
below thumbnail photos from that recent project.
And as always call us if you have any questions
and thank you for taking the time on our site. |

This project was completed with a
set of SC-200
CRYO-LATOR® Chambers using CRYOSTOP
Positive Seal Tape guaranteeing no refrigerant
leakage during the critical "open line"
freeze plug process.

Both SC-200
Chambers set up and ready to establish the double simultaneous
freeze plugs. Note the 90° vent stacks. This was
done as a safety precaution to minimize the
distribution of LN2 vapors to the overhead floors.

The freeze plugs were established
in about 15 minutes and ready for the ½" to
be changed out. |
